Even Buddy thinks "My Puppy Is A Jerk!" - The Movie!

The old adage goes, you snooze, you loose.  Well, Buddy lost his bone to the cuteness that is Dochas.

We don't like loud noises

Dochas continues to grow, eat and poop us out of house and home.  He's a curious little pup having to explore anywhere he can fit into.  But the one thing he doesn't like are loud noises or any noises that he doesn't know for that matter.  The other day we were out on a potty run and he heard a cow moo in the distance.  He did not like that one bit and decided to run to the door to go in.  Anytime a car passes by while we're out, same thing.
Last night we were in the living room and Buddy was on his usual perch looking out the window.  The neighbor had their dogs out which caused Buddy to start barking.  Dochas wanted none of that.  He came running over to my feet and tried to hide behind my legs.  I picked him up and he climbed up to where he felt safe.  Here.
Just another reason why, my puppy is a jerk.
But we love him.

It get better, right?

Dochas is a beautiful pup.
But he's still a royal terror.
He likes to chew everything still. Especially human flesh. He also enjoys chewing his brothers ears. Buddy is not to pleased with that, but, Buddy is playing with him a lot now. He's growing and his health seems still good, no signs of his issues he had when we got him. It's funny though when he poops in the house.  He feels the need to bark at it which is good because it makes it easier to find.   All in all he is a good pup, but at times, the puppy is still a jerk.

Growing pains

10 minutes prior to this, he was being a terror. Then he hit the wall. He needed Mom. The person whom was a chew toy moments earlier, was just plain Mom again. Yet another reason why my puppy is a jerk. But a cute one.

The Battle of the Beagles!

Getting used to him

One of the problems that any pet parent fears with bringing a second dog in a single dog house is for the original dog to get along with the new one.  That was an issue was had last year when we rescued another beagle that was an older dog.  No worries, that other beagle found a good home and is doing great!  But our Buddy can be a grumpy old man.  With Dochas we were worried that Buddy wouldn't warm up to him.  Well it took a week, but Buddy has warmed up to the little guy.  Plays really hard with him and is in the process of laying down the law that he's the alpha.  They are actually really cute together and are going to be really good friends.
